The east wall of the Grote Markt in Groningen is getting into shape again. The WestCord Market Hotel will open its doors in the middle of 2020. On the ground floor, the hotel will have a restaurant with a terrace, a bar, a hotel lobby, its own bakery and a kitchen. The hotel will have 123 rooms spread over six floors. On the rooftop of the hotel a terrace will be built with a beautiful view over the city of Groningen.
The building was designed by Müller-Reimann Architekten. Historic staircases will be combined with contemporary architecture. The relief in the facade and the use of high-quality materials, such as natural stone, ensure that the building will have a high-quality appearance that matches its location on the main square of the city.
