On the 10th of April the largest flower and plant market of North Netherlands traditionally takes place. The Bloemenjaarmarkt – popularly called Bloemetjesmarkt – attracts more than one hundred thousand visitors every year.
In the center of Groningen, more than a hundred market vendors offer their products. Neraly everything can be found at the market: Fresh cut flowers, large and small house plants, flower bulbs and seeds, garden and pot plants, tools and accessories.
There are market stalls and activities in the Oude Ebbingestraat, the Grote Markt, the Waagplein, the Vismarkt and the A-Kerkhof. Regardless of which direction you approach Groningen, you will almost immediately smell the spring scent.
