The Groningen Wine Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
Are you a wine lover? Or do you just enjoy good food, great music, and a fun atmosphere? Then you should head to the Akerk in Groningen from Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27. That’s where the North’s premier wine festival is kicking off for the tenth time, and it’s going to be a huge celebration!
More than 250 wines, over 20 booths, and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. From an elegant French champagne to a surprising Greek limnio, from a robust Spanish Rioja to the South African equivalent of champagne: Cap Classique. Still on the fence? The exhibitors will be happy to tell you the story behind every bottle.
In addition to tasting, you can also really dive into the experience: there are tastings every day, organized by the exhibitors themselves. And between all those glasses, no one has to go home hungry. Think of delicious cheese platters, charcuterie, and other appetizers, all enjoyed to the sounds of lively live music.
Since it’s an anniversary, they’re pulling out all the stops: every visitor receives a glass of bubbly upon arrival, and on Friday, the mayor of Groningen herself will open the festival.
Three days of wine, great flavors, and good times in a beautiful setting. Will you be there in September?
