Routes through the flower fields of the Hogeland

Would you like to explore Groningen’s tulip fields in an active way? The Rotary Club Het Hogeland has put together some great routes through the bulb fields. On Saturday, April 18, 2026, you can walk, bike, or drive through the beautiful, colorful Groningen countryside, where the tulips are in full bloom.

The available routes are:

• Hiking trails of 10, 20, 30, or 40 kilometers. A suitable distance for every level.
• A 35-kilometer bike route. Perfect for a relaxing day on the bike.
• A 65-kilometer motorcycle or car tour. Perfect for seeing more of the province.

There are places to eat and drink at a few spots along the routes, so you can enjoy a snack and a drink along the way. All routes start at Kruize Bloembollen in Uithuizermeeden, after which you’ll follow the routes through the beautiful tulip fields. You can register for one of the routes through Rotary Uithuizen.

Whether you’re an avid hiker or prefer to hop on a bike, these routes are the best way to fully experience Groningen’s bulb-growing region. Highly recommended for families, couples, and nature lovers.
