Free Tours Groningen takes you on a tour of the charming city of Groningen. In just an hour and a half, you’ll see some of the city’s most interesting spots. You’ll hear stories about the past and present, and get tips on the best places to eat, drink, and party.
This tour is a great way to quickly get to know Groningen. All the guides know the city like the back of their hand. As you walk, you’ll experience the city’s atmosphere, meet interesting people, and ask the guide anything you want to know.
To participate in the tour, you must register in advance using the registration form. There is room for 12 people per tour, and the tours take place weekly on Wednesdays at 1:30 PM, Fridays at 4:30 PM, Saturdays at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM, and finally on Sundays at 1:30 PM.
If you’d like to come with a group of more than 10 people, please contact us to discuss the possibilities. Private tours are also available.

My name is Thijs (34) and I live in Groningen since I was a student. I have traveled around the world a lot during and after my studies. Together with my girlfriend Aletta I've made a long, beautiful world trip for almost two years. After we came back we decided to start a travel company: “The Great Unknown”. Led by the idea that you don't always have to travel far to discover beautiful new things, we came up with the idea to add these Free Tours to our travel company.
