Free Tours Groningen takes you on a tour of the great city of Groningen. In an hour and a half, you’ll see some of the most interesting spots in the city. You’ll hear stories about the past and the present, and get tips on where to eat, drink and party.
This tour is a good way to get to know Groningen quickly. All the guides know the city like the back of their hand. As you walk, you’ll get a feel for the atmosphere of the city, meet interesting people and ask the guide anything you want to know.
To join the tour, you need to sign up in advance using the registration form. Each tour has room for 12 people, and the tours take place every week on: Wednesday at 13:30, Friday at 16:30, Saturday at 10:30 and 13:30, and finally on Sunday at 13:30.
If you’d like to come with a group of more than 10 people, please contact us to discuss the options. It’s also possible to book private tours.

My name is Thijs (34) and I live in Groningen since I was a student. I have travelled around the world a lot during and after my studies. Together with my girlfriend Aletta I’ve made a long, beautiful world trip for almost two years. After we came back we decided to start a travel company: “The Great Unknown“. Led by the idea that you don’t always have to travel far to discover beautiful new things, we came up with the idea to add these Free Tours to our travel company.
